I was reading I Corinthians 1:18-31 this morning. It is the passage where Paul speaks about the "foolishness" of God in regards to God choosing what is foolish in the world to shame the wise and choosing what is weak in the world to shame the strong. Pual's point was simple -- we are nothing, Jesus Christ is everything. Paul said it well in verse 31 "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."
I love this passage, well sometimes I do, because I have learned so much about the foolishness of God over the last 2 1/2 years. I have learned that He wants all of me and he expects me to live a life that is not necessarily the American dream. At times He asks me to give up all that is familiar to me and that is pretty foolish in my eyes. But when He asks me to be foolish He also says He will walk with me thru this and even when I feel very alone and forgotten He will be there for me.
