Change
This month we will be reading through Romans together. I was reading in the second chapter of Romans where Paul wrote: "Don't you realize that God's kindness is supposed to lead you to change your heart and life." It hit me once again that the good that we do is all in response to the love and grace God has first shown us in Christ. God's love and kindness are not just meant to end with us. They are meant to be lived out in our lives and passed on to others through the little things we do each day.

Can you just read through Romans? Paul writes in such long convoluted sentences that you have to work hard to try to decipher what he is saying. It is worth the effort though
ReplyDeleteI agree! It is not easy reading but well worth the effort!

ReplyDeleteI observe that people have many selfish motives for "doing good." Jesus recognized this in Matt. 6:8, 7:9-12. In many instances, doing charitable work is necessary for promotions, public recognition and selection for leadership. The same also applies to volunteering in church. I agree wholeheartedly with your comments. We must be aware of our motivation. Chuck Hill
